Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – 00 : Ika Musume-d

What’s this eerie green lantern looking UFO-like thingy? Well.. It was the first frame of this anime series and it repeatedly makes appearances before the “truth” is revealed. The main hero is Hasegawa Kodaka but I won’t bother with his screenshot as I don’t have a habit of screen-shooting male characters. Look forward to YaoiYandere’s Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi 2 reviews if you wanna see bishounens sharing the same bed and indulging in hot gay sex while the blog writer orgasms in his writings.

Presenting to you our Kodaka’s little sister Hasegawa Kobato! (Guess what? She’s voiced by Kana Hanazawa! Who happened to voice the powerful little sister Sakamachi Kureha in Mayo Chiki as well! Nowadays, KanaHana is everywhere! She’s definitely on her way to becoming a top tier seiyuu as proven by how sexy Hyuuga Mahiru sounded.) Kobato is a ku-ku-ku laughing goth-loli vampire wanna-be that has a brother complex and calls him by “An-chan.” Interesting isn’t it?

On her right is Takayama Maria! (Voiced by Yuka Iguchi! AKA Index from the To Aru Index & Railgun franchise.)  Despite Maria’s loli-nun appearance, she’s actually the Neighbour’s Club’s advisor! She calls our main hero “Onii-chan.” If this anime ever states her real age as anywhere above 10 I’ll beat the shit out of the producers.

Next on the list is Kusunoki Yukimura! If you are falling for this character… DON’T! Yukimura’s a trap! Female audience please carry on falling for this season’s Hideyoshi Kinoshita/Urushibaya Ruka. (Voiced by Yamamoto Nozomi, a new seiyuu I never heard of.) Yukimura idolizes and calls our main hero “Aniki.” He doesn’t even bother behaving like a guy. I swear I saw him wearing a skimpy 2 piece bikini seducing Kodaka. Facepalm.jpg

The madddddddo scientist Shiguma Rika! (Voiced by Fukuen Misato, known as the voice behind our lovable Uta-bou from Kamisama Dolls.) Rika is the fujoshi cum genius in this series. BL audience may want to behave like her so as to level up and be known as “hardcore.” She may look charming and nice but deep down inside, she harbors the most twisted ideas and makes typical yaoi scenes seem like children’s cartoons.

Omg look at her. So dazzling and cute! Do store this image in your solid state hard disk as I’m pretty sure you won’t see such joyous expressions on her face anytime soon. Mikazuki Yozora is this bishoujo’s name. She’s the president and founder of the Neighbour’s club. (Voiced by Marina Inoue aka Rio Tachibana in Rio: Rainbow Gate and Chiffon Fairchild in Freezing.) Yozora is a sadist and dominates the easily manipulated members of her club, namely Yukimura and Maria. This cruel angel calls the sweet looking girl below “Niku” aka “Meat.”

Introducing Kashiwazaki Sena! (Voiced by my all-time favourite seiyuu Itou Kanae! You may remember her voice as Ohana Matsumae in Hanasaku Iroha & Fumino Serizawa in Mayoi Neko.) Playing as the rich in both money and “assets” ojou-sama character who lacks common sense, she is a hardcore gal-gamer eternally at odds with Yozora.

Sadly enough, the blissful scenes by the beach above were nothing but a dream, by a knocked-out Kodaka as a result of excessive intake of poisonous substance disguise as a hot pot.

The characters were re-introduced one by one, with their real personality and dire situation revealed. Whatever happened to the charming swimsuited Yozora I saw above?

And the sweet pleasant Sena? Shattered into pieces.

Oh by the way, this is Hasegawa Kodaka, the main character. Couldn’t avoid taking his screen shot as Yukimura just had to be featured with him (hint hint BL lovers). Crossdressed in a maid costume, he’s a trap even when sleep-talking. Yes, despite his opened eyes, I assure you that Yukimura is no longer conscient.

Yea, the green UFO thingy above was this hot pot. God knows what they ate but it sure didn’t turn out nice. Even Gintama’s hotpot episode didn’t turn out as bad as this one. I look forward to more batshit insane antics the neighbour’s club can come out with. For now, let’s admire the beautifully illustrated ending song images.
