Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – 4: WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN-

I thought making Itou Kanae read lines from an eroge was enough.

Apparently not. AIC is determined to take this series by the scruff of the neck and up the ante.

I heard from an unnamed source that AIC (the animation company) tried to cram in 6472 chapters of the manga into a single episode. And I could see what this unnamed source meant.

Introducing three characters in one sitting? Gone are the old days of one new character per episode.

So the new characters come in hard and fast, and the first one is a 10-year old nun by the name of Maria Takayama who teaches at the school and lives in the church within.

Now where have I heard this before? Ah yes, a Certain small little nun called Index!

And SURPRISE MUTHAFUCKAS, she’s voiced by Yuka Iguchi! Do I need to say out loud who else she voices?

Maria is a 10-year old prodigy who teaches in a school, much like Negi in Mahou Sensei Negima.

Sadly though, Maria receives no love from her dear students. In the most unfortunate of circumstances, Maria, whose wisdom is inversely proportional to her intelligence, is completely subverted by the manipulative Yozora, whose words control Maria like a ragdoll marionette.

Would you just look at the expression on Sena’s and Kodaka’s faces. It’s totally -_______-”

You really have to watch this segment to see how Yozora systematically dismantles Maria, breaking her down and assuming complete control over her. It’s so funny and sad at the same time.

Luckily for us, here’s some magnificent Sena to look at. I HAD to make one stitched picture of her, cos as I said, she’s gonna have her own corner in my blog posts about this series. If your school doesn’t make a room specially for you, you’ll always have a spot in my blog!

Next up is Kusunoki Yukimura, a boy (actually I’m not sure) who thinks he’s a boy, but whom everybody else thinks to be a girl in a boy’s clothing. Did I make sense right there?

Yeah, he’s adamant to become as manly as Kodaka, and decides to stalk him, eventually joining the rinjin-bu.

I’d say, the first step for Yukimura to become more manly would be to grow a penis. Because there isn’t one there.

Must give some love to Kobato as well. Just look at her pouty face.

She wants attention from her brother, and it’ll be sacrilegious if we deny her our attention as well.

I say just drop the whole macabre act, and attack your brother with full on kawaii moe PAWAHH.

Halfway into the episode, and I’ve not seen anything remotely close to a parody. Could this possibly be a cause for concern?

Nah, highly doubt it. Not with Rika around.

To round it off, this episode introduces the third new character in quick succession, Rika Shiguma, a fujoshi genius scientist who has her own room/lab.

And here comes the parodies and tributes! Above is Rika with her best ahegao impression!

I think there’s no other better way of describing this live specimen of raging hormones. Rika Shiguma is YABASU. CHOU YABASU.

Kodaka saved her when she fainted while experimenting in the lab. And for that, it meant it Rika that Kodaka saved her from certain rape, and is willing to engage in sexual activities with him as a form of gratitude and repayment.

NORMALLY this would sound like an enticing prospect, but this girl is hardcore. To the max.

I did say at the start that we’d have thought that Itou Kanae AV voice was all there is to it right?

Wrong. In comes Rika narrating her twisted fantasies and fetishes, in what I can only term it as mecha love. A Gundam x Evangelion mecha love.

I’m like:

That’s totally Unit 02 from Evangelion erecting (did I say erecting) an AT-Field! Only that in this case, it’s a hymen. THE STRONGEST HYMEN IN THE WORLD.

Is that…..Sora no Otoshimono?!?!?!?!

My eyes. What in the nine hells did I just watch.

Aye, ’tis true.

So I’ll leave you guys with some healing visions to soothe your ragged eyes.

A lovely sight of the twin peaks of Yozora, who is but an undulating hill, and Sena, whose mountainous heights are covered by an excessive amount of cloth.

Stay safe, my friends. Who knows what’s in store for us next week, now that the entire cast is assembled.

I never though rule 34 will apply to mechas that way.
This anime is full of amazing characters. Have you tried reading the manga? It’s actually pretty great^^.
Just found your reviews today and I love it. I’ll be reading your reviews from now on. Keep it up ^^

As you rightly put it: If it exists, there is a porn of it.

I’m more of an anime person…unless the anime is crap and doesn’t do the manga justice.

But in Haganai, I think it’s doing a great job. Not that I’ve read the manga. I’m just saying that as a standalone work, it can pull some punches.

And err…cám ơn? I think that’s how it’s supposed to be typed right. Yeah, for appreciating my reviews haha.

You know very little of my tastes in yaoi archyver, but I don’t blame you for that you don’t converse with me enough to learn of my tastes and nor do I think you ever will and that’s understandable. My tastes in yaoi are vast and range to many different genres and varieties, but among them there are two things that drive me to complete “ugh- Dx” and those two are bara and shota. Of course as with anything there are exceptions to the rule, however, I cannot bring myself to call Yukimura a man, I just can’t. That bundle of femininity and shota is just 100% shoujo it’s unthinkable for me to call him a man. I can forgive appearances, but personality? NO! He can have the male genitalia or not, but either way he is a female and nothing less. I’ve made my stand from his first impression and unless he grows a pair it shan’t change! However don’t get me wrong I’m not calling him a bad character, that’s left to be seen in future episodes.

Changing the subject, Yozora’s become more manipulative with each episode. By the ending of it I will expect that she’s blackmail the principal into doing something against his will for great profit on her part. She’s quickly going down my list as a favorite character of mine what a shame, but it’s a commonality that the main characters are usually not as interesting as the side characters in my point of view so I can’t say I’m too surprised, Sena’s already become more fun than Yozora anyway. Plus the new girl Rika seem to me like a fascinating new cast member. She seem so unorthodox and her understanding of things is just fabulous! I can’t wait to see her again I want to see how she’d interact with Sena being the way she is. Oh I can see it! INNUENDOS! INNUENDOS EVERYWHERE! I CAN’T WAIT! (ノ≧∀≦)ノ~♥

Yes, I won’t disagree with ya there, but that was something completely different from what I was expecting TwT. Ah~ I’m glad I didn’t get my hopes up or else this would have been quite the let down.

My mind was full of fμĉĸ too when I watched this episode. Robot sexual innuendos, do NOT want! D: liked your ahegao reference, though! totally lol’d! Oh and one last thing, I refuse to accept Yukimura as a boy. He’s pretty much a carbon copy of Hideyoshi from Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, and will therefore be treated as a girl by me from now on.

lol @enixfire, Intimidating fujoshi rant is intimidating

I suppose I did speak too soon, since I’ve only seen him for one episode. I’ll take your word for it , though, and anticipate further “more interesting” character development 😀

As you put it, this episode “filled my mind full of fuck”. (And you earn 50 internets for useing a picture of jakie chan XD XD) It was kind of awkwerd because I watched this episode and after Rika’s venting i turned around and my brothers 9 year old kid was standing in my door way stareing at the screen. I think I did done scared that little girl for life XP. Thats what I get for forgeting to keep my door closed.

I had a hard time reading through this review. I had to stop, laugh, recover, then scroll down only to repeat the process.
