Least depressing portion of Madoka Magica

is the ED, Magia by Kalafina.

“Why not the OPening?” you argue.
Because the OP is a freakin’ hell of a troll, if I’ve ever seen one. Which makes it depressing also, especially if you’re expecting a healing anime on qute wittle magical girls hopping around banishing ebil witches.

And because Kalafina is just pure awesome, I say.

Least depressing or not, the guitar riffs are PURE AWESOMENESS.

actually for Magia, the drum is king. Keiko even explained they were trying for something new with the drums.

I’m sad that people like Shawn remain unconvinced. He even asked me b4 “you’d pay to watch Kalafina live meh?”

AGREED. Kalafina just brings a whole new meaning to orchestral rock.

And the OP is a ****ing lie. Way too…bubbly and happy for such a dark anime.

… I think I’m the only one who found the OP appropriate. I don’t find it bubbly or happy, much. At least when compared to Cardcaptor Sakura. And the lyrics and the opening shot of crying Madoka was more than enough to suggest that some serious shit was going to go down.

but it’s been stated/confirmed/flogged to death that the OP was meant as a red herring…

It was a lie because they showed a happy group of mahou shoujos. Who all in reality, have or will die or suffer a fate worst than death.

Heh. Maybe it’s because I’m a nightmare fetishist that I wasn’t tricked by the OP one bit.
